S1E2 - Skye Jethani - Encouraged by the pain, angst, and struggle in the church
On this episode of MMP, Doug and J.R. talk about sanity, sheep, fleas, and oil … and we are excited to share an amazing conversation with author/speaker/minister, Skye Jethani. This conversation will take a 30,000-ft view of the state of the Church in the US, and how pastors can stay healthy and fresh in this difficult season as we look to the future with hope. Skye helps us see this cultural pain and trial as a beautiful opportunity for the Church to be faithful and fruitful. Lastly, we share an encouraging word for pastors who are feeling the pressures that come when our identity is rooted in our success and effectiveness.

Questions:
Skye said: “pain we don’t choose is a trail and pain we do choose is a discipline.”
What trials are you in right now? Can you name those? What might God be able to form in you through this trial?
Where are we choosing voluntarily to enter into pain and discipline?
What are you seeing in the culture/town around you? And what might the Gospel speak to what you see?
